Find Your Purpose and Walk in it

After Bro. Jackie's message on "Only One Life" I remembered something that God was speaking to me awhile back.

In November of 2017 I shared this with the church.

I would like to share it again.

I believe God is trying to wake us up. God wants us to step into our calling and quit wasting the life He has given us.

That evening in November I shared with you what God had given to me that past week. I was spoken to that Wednesday evening while being prayed for. The person said to me..."Step into your calling. You know what it is, you just need to make the first step and God will be there to help you." As soon as this was spoken, "You know what that calling is", my mind went racing around thinking and doubting.

I asked what is it Lord? What is my calling and are you sure I know it already? I am told, "I just have to make the first step". What is that step Lord? My mind continued to ask these questions because in myself I was unsure.

I thanked God for what he had spoken to me and I prayed for him to show me what my calling is. I asked someone else to pray about it with me and their response was, I would be the first to know. They were right. According to what was spoken, I already knew, I just had to be obedient and take the first step. I may still be searching and praying that I know without a doubt what my calling is but I know that God has placed a calling in my life and he has placed a calling in all of your lives as well.

1 Peter 4:10-11 NLT

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.”

Romans 12:6-8 NLT

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”

I ask you this, what is God calling you to do? Are you willing to seek him and find out? Are you willing to be obedient once you do find out?

Joshua 1:7-9 NLT “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””

Let's be strong and courageous in what God is calling us to do. He is with us, he is with you, every step of the way.
